Inno-port Scheveningen Port was opened in 2016. This sea port centre is the test location for the Ocean Cleanup project and the innovative wave measurement buoy. It is also home to research projects into the use of seaweed as a source of food and a way of strengthening a healthy marine ecosystem. Here, VPdelta and Den Haag municipal council are developing a field lab for entrepreneurs where innovations in coastal zone and water management and the spatial development of coastal areas can be put through their paces, perfected and marketed. Apart from outer-dike flood risk management, coastal zone protection and development and flood resistant architecture, the field lab also hosts research into recreational water activities. By combining product development and case studies new insights and solutions emerge which will help managers and users turn the coastal zone area into an adaptive environment.
VPdelta supports many start-ups and grownups working on the development of promising innovations. Click here to find out more about the start-ups involved.
